Acupuncture is an effective holistic health care system that has helped millions of people become well and stay well. Acupuncture promotes the body's natural healing power or qi by inserting very thin sterile needles at specific points along pathways on the body. This simulation will enhance the recuperative power of the body by increasing blood flow and modulating neurogenic and endocrine systems. As a bonus, acupuncture has been proven to stimulate the “happy endorphins” of the body leaving you in a state of bliss.

What is Acupuncture

The traditional healing method of acupuncture is an effective modality used to bring the body back to homeostasis. Considered a Life Science based primarily on the patterns and observations of the world around us and its relationship on our health and well being. Using the basic principles of Yin and Yang and their functioning interaction to describe, diagnose and treat physiological and psychological pathologies of the human body. Patterns of disharmony describes a situation of imbalance in a patient's body. The treatment of Acupuncture works with meridian channels and acupuncture points to activate the body's innate healing abilities. Qi is the vital energy that animates the body and protects it from illness. Qi flows through meridian pathways and provides nourishment to the body's cells, tissues, muscles, organs and glands. When there is an imbalance or blockage in the flow of Qi, symptoms associated with the condition or illness may appear. Once an imbalance of Qi is determined, an acupuncturist will place fine sterile needles at specific acupuncture points located along your meridian pathways. The safe and often painless insertion of these needles can unblock obstruction and rebalance Qi in these pathways. When Qi can circulate freely throughout the body it can eliminate pain and restore balance as well as the body's ability to heal itself ultimately leading to optimal health and well-being.

What to Expect

We are a full service alternative health clinic. We offer Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Bodywork. This means that there are several different ways we can best meet your needs. We offer acupuncture and herbal medicine consultations that allow us to discuss your health history, prioritize your health concerns and develop a treatment plan unique to you. The typical response after an acupuncture treatment is “that was really relaxing!” Most people fall asleep during the treatment, in fact “acu-naps” are encouraged. Surprisingly, acupuncture needles cause little to no discomfort, some spots are more sensitive than others but in general the sensations are tingling and warm. We utilize herbal medicine when appropriate as a safe and powerful way of reinforcing and strengthening the effects of acupuncture. In a sense, you get to take your treatment home with you, where you can re-experience its benefit on a daily basis. Our goal is to help you get back to health. Typically the longer you've had the problem, the longer it will take to resolve. For both chronic and acute conditions, we recommend that people begin by coming in once a week for 3-5 visits. Once you are in a more stable health pattern the goal is to maintain progress and treatments can be spaced out accordingly.
